Signing Up for My First CrossFit Competition

I’ve been doing CrossFit for the past 9 months and I’ve decided to sign up for my first competition! Usually my workout time each week is split between CrossFit and rugby, but since our rugby 15’s season is over for the year I’ve decided to focus in on CrossFit this summer and at the end of the summer put my skills to test! At first I thought I’d sign up for Femme Royale but it costs $172 per team to register. That’s a little too pricey for me at this point, but it does look fun and I’d like to try it in the future if I wasn’t in the beginning division.

Since Femme Royale was too expensive I hunted around for another local competition and I think I may have found the one: Elite Fitness League‘s SoCal Summer Classic!

It’s happening on August 6th at CrossFit 714, it’s only about $40 per person, and I’m super excited to find out what the workouts are going to be! This competition is for same sex duos so I had to find a partner and luckily my friend who I workout with at CrossFit BPM has decided to be on my team! This will also be her first competition so we’re both anxious to figure out what the heck is going on and prepare ourselves for the workouts. I actually contacted Elite Fitness League via email and the guy told me that there will be a sandbag workout sponsored by Brute Force Sandbags which sounds crazy awesome. I’ll need to hunt down a sandbag that I can practice with.

I’ll continue to post my progress with this competition all throughout the summer. I need to get better about taking pictures of myself but hopefully I can bribe some people I workout with to help me out 🙂
