I’m still alive after finishing the Crossfit Open workout 16.1! I got a total score of 159 reps which comes out to a total of 6 rounds plus 3 lunges.
I completed 16.1 at my box, Crossfit BPM, during their Friday Night Lights workout. I went during the 3rd heat of the night and of course I had my super buff coach competing next to me. Why didn’t I sign up earlier!? lol Basically my strategy for 16.1 was DON’T DIE and I think it worked out well for me. Lunges and burpees in general are some of my weakest movements so I knew I was going to have a hard time with those. I wanted to make up a little bit of time by keeping my jumping pull ups quick and preferably unbroken.
BIG shoutout to my judge Scott who could tell I was hurting and helped me with my timing. I have never been so happy to have someone count down 5-4-3-2-1 before in my life. It was such a long workout but at the end of it I definitely felt a real sense of accomplishment but at the same time wanted to just lie down on the ground in a puddle of sweat.
My legs are still sore from Friday, but I can’t wait to see what the Crossfit Open will throw my way in 16.2 and I’m hoping at least one of these workouts I’ll be able to do Rx even if it’s just for one round.
